Refund & Cancellation Policy
Refund & Cancellation Policy
We want you to feel completely confident engaging Develean. This page explains, in plain terms, how billing, cancellations, and refunds work, and what protections you have as a client. Your signed Service Agreement covers the specifics of your engagement — this page is here to make sure the general picture is always clear and easy to find.
How Our Model Works
Develean is not a one-off project shop — we build and operate a dedicated engineering team for you on an ongoing basis. That means our fees are not for a single deliverable; they cover the whole operational layer running behind your team every month: salaries, payroll, HR, hardware, workspace, and continuity support. Understanding that helps explain how our billing and refund approach works below.
Why We Do Not Offer Free Trials — and What We Offer Instead
We do not do free or unpaid trial periods. Properly vetting an engineer, setting them up with secure hardware, and getting contracts and payroll in place takes real work before day one — so we would rather be upfront about that than offer something that is not sustainable. Instead, most new clients start with a 3-month Pilot Engagement, backed by one month's retainer paid upfront. It's a real, paid engagement — but it's specifically designed to give you a genuine, no-surprises window to evaluate performance, support, and fit before committing longer-term.
How Billing Works
- Your monthly retainer is billed in advance of the month it covers, unless your Service Agreement says otherwise.
- That retainer covers everything happening behind the scenes that month — your engineer's compensation, payroll, hardware, workspace, HR support, your Momentum Manager, and full access to your Workspace Portal.
- Invoices are due on the schedule in your agreement — if a payment is missed, we will always reach out before anything is paused.
Our Approach to Refunds
We believe in fairness, and here is where we will always make it right:
- If we are late getting your engineer started, through no fault of yours, against the timeline we agreed — a 100% refund will be processed and returned to your account.
- If we are unable to fulfil a specific role and mutually decide to close it, we will issue a 100% refund of your money.
- If we ever make a billing mistake — a duplicate charge, a wrong amount — we will fix it and refund it, no questions asked.
On the other hand, a few things fall outside what we can refund: simply changing your mind after a month has already started or wanting to shift to short-term or unbundled work that sits outside what we offer.
Cancelling Your Engagement
If it is time to part ways, just give us written notice as outlined in your Service Agreement (typically 30 days). Because your engineer's payroll and infrastructure are already committed for that period, fees for the notice period and any month already underway remain payable — but there would not be any surprise charges beyond that.
If Something Is Not Working: Our Replacement Guarantee
If an engineer is not the right fit, or unexpectedly becomes unavailable — even during your Pilot Engagement — that is on us to fix, and we will. We will bring in a matched replacement from our pre-vetted backup pipeline at no extra recruitment cost, as quickly as we reasonably can. It's not a cash refund — it's our commitment to making sure your engineering capacity never actually stops.
